STEM and community spirit always make a great combination, and TEAM X had an incredible time sharing both at the Dublin Farmers Market on July 10, 2025.
This outreach event gave our team a chance to connect with families across Dublin in a lively outdoor setting filled with food vendors, local businesses, and summer energy. From the moment we set up our booth, students of all ages were eager to stop by, ask questions, and see our FTC robot in action. Batman, our competition robot, became an instant crowd favorite as it demonstrated driving, object pickup, and autonomous routines right on the market walkway.
Parents and community members were just as enthusiastic. Many stopped to learn about the FIRST robotics pathway and how their children could get involved through programs like FLL and FTC. Our team shared personal experiences, offered guidance on forming new teams, and provided information on upcoming opportunities in the area.
To make robotics more accessible, we brought along several LEGO-based builds from our earlier FLL seasons. These sparked curiosity among younger students and gave families a clear picture of how robotics begins long before high school. Throughout the afternoon, we welcomed steady groups of visitors, answering questions, demonstrating our robot, and sharing what STEM can look like when students take the lead.
By the end of the event, TEAM X had spoken with more than eighty community members, all excited to learn about robotics and the opportunities available for young innovators in Dublin. The Farmers Market gave us a unique space to reach new families, celebrate STEM, and continue building a strong, supportive robotics community.
Outreach moments like this remind us why we compete. Inspiring students, connecting with families, and giving back to the community will always be at the heart of TEAM X.
